For a /jaded/ traveller like myself, the exhibition of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Emperor Qin in Xi/an was an experience never to be forgotten. In the spring of 1974 peasant villagers discovered some pieces of terra-cotta along with ancient bronze weapons on the outskirts of Xi/an. The villager who is credited with the discovery now makes a reasonable living autographing books for tourists. (I admit, I couldn/t resist!)
