There are many covered bridges in the United States. I haven/t been to see them all, but I do intend to try. I have seen the Bridges of Madison County. The movie and the actual bridges. They are also very beautiful. Each bridge has a story to tell. You have but to listen with your heart.

Also, along our travels to the covered bridges, we came across this beaver/s home.

Beaver's Home We waited awhile, but we didn/t see any beaver.

There are many interesting and poignant stories that can be found by talking to the people who live near the bridges. The most popular being when the creek rises and the bridge gets washed, pronounced (warshed) downstream.

If you plan to visit the covered bridges in Vermont, you should pick up a map. The map is pretty accurate, but not always right on the money with the mileage between, so don/t give up hope if you don/t see the next one when it says you should.

October is the best time of year to go so you can watch the leaves change colors. Autumn (Fall) is the most quiet time as well. Right before the big winter season begins and right after the wonderful summer has ended.

It breathtaking!! But don/t take my word for it, go see for yourself.
