Government Buildings in Ottawa picture - The Cabinet Room held thirteen members, who formed the original Privy Council (the Monarch's private advisors). The Cabinet has expanded greatly, so no longer meets here. The Privy Council has acquired a Secretariat (Privy Council Office) of career public servants, who offer non-partisan support, liasion and consultative services to the Cabinet. The Clerk of the Privy Council is Secretary to the Cabinet, and the senior Canadian public servant.
