Launched in Glasgow in 1946, the Waverley is the last sea going paddle steamer in the world. Ailsa Craig is a small almost uninhabited island off the coast of Ayrshire in Scotland which is now officially a nature reserve. This article tells of a cruise I took on the Waverley to see the birds on the island. Unfortunately the weather was really hazy and visibility was quite poor.
