When Charles Howard passed-away in 1738, this fabulous estate was passed-on to the next generations of the Howards whereby Henry, the "4th Earl of Carlisle" (Charles was the 3rd) assembled the great collection of antique sculptures of the castle, as well as Italian paintings, gems, & Old Master drawings. Pics of these collections was seen back in Part 1, as well as in the pics later-on in this article & Part 3. *Henry accumulated the collections during his grand tour of Europe. Hence, the paintings, sculptures, [& etc.] of Castle Howard is a collection of Europe's finest. Henry died in 1758.
