I was very fortunate to visit Kiev (Kyiv) last summer (2004) for a week and was given a personal tour by a friend that lives in the Ukraine. I live in the USA and there is nothing like the style and architecture in Kiev! The pictures brought back some excellent memories - thanks much for sharing with all of us :)

Spent 2 weeks in The Ukraine visiting family about 10 years ago... now you make me realize I need to go back! Lviv is also a great old city -and the Carpathian Mountains are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Old Kiev!
Thank You Manfred! Kiev was the original capital of 'Rus'and was founded in the 9th century. Christianity came to 'Rus' in 988 and is now over a 1000 years old. Communism only lasted 75 years and while they tried to destroy religion and its symbols, they obviously were not very successful! Regards!
