When Will The Suffering End?
Sightseeing in Paris picture - Never, it seems for Ugolin, immortalized here in bronze by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux in 1862, while the original station clock behind it ticks on. This sculpture was inspired by the tragic tale of a damned hero, Count Ugolin, who was condemned to death with his children and grandchildren by starvation. He did eventually succumb to starvation, but not without first having eaten his children. The giant clock in the distance is an original piece from the railway station which still keeps time to this day.
