We visited the Festival des Epouvantails in Meyrals, Dordogne, France, in July of 2004. Actually, we didn't go on the day of the festival itself, but the scarecrows remain on display for at least a month or two, until summer storms and wild weather do away with them or they are spirited off by the families and artists who create them...you can spot them around the Meyrals area, in the hills between St. Cyprien and Les Eyzies, all year long.
