Historically, Vlad Tepes never had anything to do with Bran Castle, but because of its extraordinary state of repair and the rather cool and intricate floorplan even beyond a comparison to the state of the Impaler's crumbled capital at Tirgiuviste, one can easily understand why Bram Stoker chose this as the setting for his horrific tale.
