I had to travel 12 hours by train from Italy to Dusseldorf,it was a long trip through Italy,than Austria and a big part of Germany. It was a wonderful sunny day so I had a chance to look around and see places,but at a certain point I was tired , the country was not exaiting to watch and so I fell asleep. Well, from Duesseldorf to Florence it takes for sure more than 12 hours, for me it was shorter because I started from Innichen,a small city placed in North Italy where I grew up. I used a train called "Paganini" ( that train does in one day Verona-Dortmund or the way back,crossing Dueseldorf).So far I checked and they said that that trein is not anymor available, there is something new,but if you wnat to know more, I don't have enough space here to type, you should give me your e-mail adress or an andress where I can send you information:-) Greetings, Cristina

Christina, we are interested in your train trip from Italy, as we are thinking of travelling from Bruggen to Florence. But when I looked at train times this trip seemed to be much longer than 12 hours. Can you tell me which tain this is, and whether you had to change trains en-rute please?

It was great to see some of these pictures. My 6th great grandfather was one of the Palatines to travel down the Rhine to come to America. At least it doesn't take 4 to 6 weeks now!!!!
