Greetings from Asturias, a proud region of Northern Spain, rich in tradition and history. Last year I published an introduction to Oviedo, its churches, art and Prerromanic architecture, as well as its traditions, including the pouring of sidra. The article also introduces the city of Pontedeume (Galicia), and features a medieval monastery in the forest nearby, at http://www.worldisround.com/articles/21510/index.html

This year I spent more time getting to know and love Oviedo, I also visited Gijon, and I was blessed with the chance to see Cudillero, a seaside village built vertically up a steep cliff overlooking the city and sea. Uff, what views!

Here's a small sampler for now. More from each of these places will eventually spring up on Worldisround (my favorite place to give a slideshow!) and on my own site, http://www.fenfotos.com

ciao for now
