Our six week tour of Australia and New Zealand included a four day respite at Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef. We arrived at Gladstone on Australia's East Coast where we spent the night before boarding the catamaran for Heron. This was the perfect get-away. No phones, no clocks, no keys, no TV. Even at a slow pace, it only took about an hour to circumnavigate the entire island. We had a private cottage and all meals were included with our reservation. We shared a dining table with a delightful couple from Sweden. They left a day before we did and continued on to Tahiti. We continued our holiday up the coast to Cairns. From there we flew to Christchurch, New Zealand and toured both the South and North Island. I'll submit those comments and photos soon.
