The planning began by applying for an expedition permit from Parks Canada. We declared ourselves to be the Icefields Photo Expedition - myself as the expedition leader/photographer and Nancy as the highly experienced camp manager. After sending a few faxes, the mountaineering warden of Kluane Park granted us an expedition permit.
