I insisted my friend bring me to this market I once saw on a documentary where fish are auctioned at the speed of light and where most of Tokyo gets her supply of fresh fish.. little did i realize this would mean a 4 am commute from the hotel if I were to catch all the action in time. It was all worth it.. a real eye opener..an experience not to be missed (not just saying it because I was there.. err ok ok .. it's entirely because I was there).. Tsukiji market has everything under the sun (or sea), a real lesson in who's who is the underwater world.. I had so much fun snapping at creatures I have absolutely no idea what they were and the Japanese fish mongers were most obliging to silly tourists like us photographing their 'ware'. The auction itself is most interesting but I would have enjoyed it more if I understood what went on..
