John F. Bole lived in this Tudor influenced house until 1930. At 14 years of age, he participated in the publication of the first edition of The Leader in 1883 & was the newspaper's first newsboy. He founded the Regina Trading company in 1898, Regina's first department store, & served as president until the business was sold in 1920. He was also president of the Sask Mortgage Trust Company, was a member of town council from 1895 to 1903, & was elected Regina's first MLA after the province was created in 1905. He was re-elected in 1908 & 1912, but resigned his seat in 1916.
