12/30/92 -- On this foggy, wintry morning we walked around Sultanahmet (where our youth hostel was located) to Topkapi Palace, me continually impressed by the European quaintness of the place. The Palace was very interesting, in particular the exhibits of John the Baptist's skeletal arm and some strands of Mohammad the Prophet's hair. I took some great photos, and posed in some, such as this one, outside the gate used by eunuchs to enter the Imperial Harem.
