Cappadochia
North Africa/Middle East picture - 01/05/93 -- I didn't get much sleep last night, with my seat at the back of the bus where I would be blasted with cold air everytime the door opened, but I enjoyed delving ever deeper into Asia Minor! We stopped in Konya, an ugly (but interesting!) Turkish city famed for its whirling dervishes and Sufi cults, where we changed buses. The further east we drove, the more traditional looking everything became, and horse-drawn carriages began appearing on the roads. Eventually we got to icy Nevershir, and transfered by mini-bus to Goreme, the site of the famous underground city of Cappadochia.
