Bukit Hijau Known as Lata Bukit Hijau Recreational Forest, the peranginan BH is famed for its multi-level cascading waterfalls that create pools of cool, crystal clear water amidst emerald rock formations, making it the perfect weekend getaway. Getting to this retreat is no easy feat. The sign boards are hopelessly inadequate, we had to rely on verbal directions from the kind strangers all the way from butterworth...for some odd reason, the directions are always greeted with 'banyak jauh oh..' One old gentleman even added a warning.. 'it's very dangerous there.. lots of people have lost their lives there..be careful...' we had no map, no idea where it was but we were not about to let some warning of danger nor lack of direction stop us.... it's some 40km away from Kulim hitech Park just to give it some perspective.. It was paradise equitorial style.. the place was teeming with life and the moment we hit Bukit Hijau, we could not stop snapping.. sure the waters was exciting but who has time to snap waterfalls when every 3 steps you take, a something something fly flutters past you.. (assortment of dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, grasshoppers in multi shades and hues...). It took us 30 minutes to get from the carpark to the waterfall proper, just because of the great photo opportunities. Enjoy..
