Portmeirion is a work of art. The village was the setting for the classic TV series, "The Prisoner" and that was what first drew my interest. The story-book setting is even more enchanting in real life than on screen. Four of us spent a week in Battery (Batri) Cottage in September, 2000. We made day trips to nearby attractions and even took the ferry over to Dublin for an overnight stay, but I could have stayed in Portmeirion the whole time without being bored.
