Antwerp, under Spanish occupation in the 16th century, had to be the example of Christianity and worshiping the Holy Mother. Over 500 statues of the Madonna you could find here (about 120 are back in public), and a lot of churches and even a cathedral, built on the remainigs of an Roman Church.
