Relaxing Bruggen (Germany)

Exploring this wonderful part of Germany I had a chance to visit many places, parts of Viersen, a nice town few minutes to drive far from Dusseldorf.

This place is called Bruggen and it's easy to reach; there is also a big camping with a lake where people spend the weekend in a relaxing atmosphere and it's close to the boarder of Netherlands.

People can have a walk, go biking, fishing,playing tennis... I loved this area cause I had a chance to enjoy the environment and driving few minutes I could reach nice cities like Dusseldorf, Cologne,Bonn... I suggest to everyone to visit this region!

We are coming to Westphalia in a dormobile in October and would love to find out more about this part of Germany before we come. Your photos make us want to visit Bruggen. Can you think of any other places not too far away from here that is worth a visit/

I just wanted to say thank you for the pictures you have here! I don't know when I will be able to go to Bruggen, Germany (live in US) but my dad's family was originally from there. Evidentally they changed the spelling of the name when they came to the US. Thank you for the pictures!

Return to Bruggen after 16 years!
I was a young man when I first visited Bruggen. My grandfather was German and has friends there and I was able to visit them. I found the people very friendly and welcoming! After 16 long years I was able to return to see my new friends again and with a few more gray hairs and a couple of pounds arond the waist. It was just as I remembered!! As a man in my early 30's I would love to start a family in a place like Bruggen.... Just wish that my German was better!! Get to know Klause at the local pub and have a few Bit's for me please! "Bitte ein Bit"

RAF BRUGGEN
Hi, my father was in the RAF at Bruggen. We left there in 1990.I tell you... Looking at these pictures brought back some wonderful fond memories as a teenager growing up. I used to fish in that river, by the waterwheel. I sure miss those times and all the friends I got to know over there. Lived there four 4 years. A memorable 4 years.

My wife and I are intending to visit someone in Bruggen, and as we are from Australia, we wonder which is the closest airport. Is it Dusselldorf, and if so, how many kilometres away from Bruggen is that please?
