Ferdowsi, the great national epic poet who wrote the "Shahnameh" ("Book of Kings") was born in 935 AD in a village near Toos in Khorasan Province in North-Western Iran. "Shahnameh" is a collection of manuscripts of Iranian legends and mythology.
