A rather informal portrait of Nasereddin Shah who was an avid lover of photography and film. The belt he's seen wearing is woven of gold, and the buckle is a huge stunning emerald measuring 5 cm. (2 in.) tall and weigh 175 cts, and is surrounded with diamonds. The belt was worn by both Reza Shah Pahlavi and his son, the late Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi on their respective coronations. It is now displayed in the glittering vaults of the Iranian crown jewels in Tehran.
