Photo: Amir Samakar The Majestic Mt. Damavand is a 5671m high volcano (18000 ft), which is still slightly active. It's the highest mountain in Iran, and one of the highest in the world, and lies in the Alborz mountain area, which is approximately 300km long and 100 km wide. On clear days when the smog over the capital permits, the beautiful mountain can be seen all the way from Tehran. The legendary Mt. Damavand is frequently used in the epic stories of Iranian mythology. Support "Green Front of Iran": http://www.greenfront.org/E_Activities_1999.asp [SPNRAY-AI0005]
