Crocodile infested rivers of Sistan
North Africa/Middle East picture - In these rivers of Iran's south-eastern province of Sistan, crocodiles dwell. The Iranian crocodile aka Persian crocodile, known locally as "Gandoo", is the same species as the Indian crocodile, known as "mugger crocodile" which can be found in India, Pakistan south-eastern Iran and Nepal. It can measure up to 15 feet (5 meters). Although it is usually rather timid compared to its cousins elsewhere, it does occasionally kill humans. The last known such attack was in 2003 when it killed a 12 year old local boy who was swimming in a river.
