Imam Reza Hospital - Mashad

The architecture is typical for the short era during which Reza Shah Pahlavi, the father of the last Shah of Iran, seeked to rapidly modernize Iran. Much of the architecture from this period reflects Reza Shah's nationalistic sentiments. Many of the architectural details, such as the pillars of this hospital, were influenced by the imperial Achaemenid architectural style.
