<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> The Hafezieh - Shiraz<br> North Africa/Middle East picture - Photo: Sajad Avarand - ISNA Hafez of Shiraz (in Persian: &#34;Hafez-e Shirazi&#34;) is considered as one of Iran&#39;s greatest national poets. He was born sometime between the years 1310 and 1337 in the city of Shiraz. The renowned British poet John Payne (1842 - 1916) who translated the &#34;Divan-e Hafez&#34; considered Hafez to be the greatest poet of the whole world. Iran is often referred to as the country of poets. It is without any doubt that I can say that no other country deserves that title as much as Iran does. Only those who are somewhat familiar with Iranian poetry can understand and grasp that suggestion. This is the so called &#34;Hafezieh&#34; where this great Persian poet lays buried. It is a center for pilgrimage for millions of Iranians and non-Iranians alike. </div></nolayer></noembed>
