We visited Cumberland State Park in KY Oct. 2001 and walked the 7 miles on Eagles Falls Trail. It was a very strenous hike that took 3-4 hours to accomplish. You have to go up and down over 100 stairs and climb hills where upon reaching the top you only have a narrow trail to step upon for there are sheer drop-offs everywhere. You need to be in good health and have plenty of time for this trail. It is not advisable to have children on the trail. The rewards are tremendous though. In places, you can see for miles and miles of nothing but trees of many colors. Moonbow Falls is so spectacular to see. If you have seen a rainbow, imagine one at night with the moon shining and a bright white arc shining from the bottom of the falls toward the top. There are only two falls of this kind; with the moonbow showing twice a year during a full moon. The other destination is in Zimbawee, Africa. Yahoo Falls offers a small creek that runs through the trail for wading and walking along the water above the falls. Plenty of camping and picnic area surrounds acres of woods. Fun for all.
