The summer of 2004, in the Outaouais Region (Gatineau/Ottawa, Canada) has been nothing to write home about. So Anna and I decided to go to Varadero, Cuba for 2 weeks, from August 12 to 26. The weather was gorgeous, 32 to 35 degrees celcius, even the ocean was at about 30.
The evening we got there we were advised that because of Hurricane Charlie, there would be a 10 o'clock curfew. A few minutes before 10 pm the Hotel staff went around the resort and again advised us to go to our rooms. Armed with a 26 oz bottle of rum,
