<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> former City Hall after enlargement<br> Government Buildings in Ottawa picture - The first City Hall was erected two blocks south-east of Parliament Hill in 1875-77. In 1910 and 1911 it was renovated, with further alterations in 1925, then it was demolished in 1932. I can&#39;t find information on its immediate successor, but a new one was eventually constructed near the Rideau Falls in 1958. It was subsequently greatly enlarged during the 1990s. The 1958 City Hall is the rather utilitarian-looking boxy structure at right centre, now surrounded by the very stylish &#36;100 million enlargement. </div></nolayer></noembed>
