Dambana ng Kagitingan (Philippines)

This magnificent shrine, DAMBANA NG KAGITINGAN (Shrine of Bravery) is located in Mt. Samat in Bataan (4 hours from Manila) - about 2,000 ft above sea level.

1. The great cross is a symbol of sacrifice of those who gave their lives and limbs in during World War II. It is also the viewing place 450 ft above the peak. You can get to the top through a lift in 30 seconds.

2. You can see a fantastic view of Manila Bay and the Corregidor Island.

3. You can see a distant view of the Mt. Pinatubo.

4. The museum is rich in war history - Death March, "I shall return", weaponry, etc.

See it for yourself and enjoy the fresh and cool breeze.

Dambana ng Kagitingan is a place to reflect upon the Filipino values, especially of valor and love of country ordinarily known as 'patriotism'. I am disappointed to see comments added on this page with words like 'masarap dito etc.,' this place is sacred and should be treated as such. This landmark should remind of Filipino values especially that our nation is facing a fatal blow from different crises,political,economic and many more to include personal(our attitude towards helping solve these problems). Many of us resigned to silence and tolerance as if awaiting intervention from greek gods. pait kaayo! Let us do something,and this stuff should serve its purpose of reminding us what we are and who we are, Pinoy tayo...
