Reunion Weekend of November 9th-11th The 40th reunion weekend is over!!
About a dozen of us were able to connect with each other Friday night at the Rockaway on Clearwater Beach, then went over to the Palm Pavilion to grab a bite to eat.
The 50's Largo High picnic Saturday was another chance for some of us to connect and it was encouraging to met classmates from LHS from 1932 through the 1950's!! Hopefully we'll all still be going strong and be able to get together after 60+ years too!(Unfortunately, only a handful showed up for the picnic on Sunday.)
The dinner cruise was fantastic!! There were over 90 of us who sailed out on to the Clearwater intercoastal on the Starlite Majesty on a beautiful, calm, night. We had a fabulous time reconnecting with old friends and making new ones!! There was a lot of hugging, laughter, dancing and enjoyment of good music, excellent food and great company!
John Anderson came from Michigan, Sara Attaway~Uranga from Oklahoma, Katie Beardon~Morris from North Carolina, Wathen Brown~Doggett from Georgia, Bob Countryman from Nevada, Barry Rauchle from California, Bob Lockhart from Kansas, Bob Signor from Nebraska, Gerry Spicer~Pearson from Minnesota, Jim Welch from Virginia, Jim Hartley from Manassa, Va., and the rest of us from every nook and cranny in Florida!
Everyone has promised to send me disks and CD's of the pictures they took so they'll be uploaded here as I receive them. If you have any pictures, please email them to me at jemiller@tampabay.rr.com
May God bless and everyone stay well and safe.
Warmest regards, Jean (Steffens) Miller ================================================
COMMENTS FROM CLASSMATES
Barry Rauchle...........I had a great time, wish I could have stayed for the Sunday picnic. I can't believe 5 years have past since the last reunion. It amazes me -once in 5 years scores of people get together and within 5 minutes the'family' is one again. It's as if we see one another every week. Thanks again for taking on a monumental task and pulling all of us together.
Wathen Brown~Doggett.....Hi, Jean... Thank you so much for the photos. I have a roll of film not yet developed, but will share them as soon as I do. It was a great time.
Price Schwenck...........Thanks for all your work in putting our reunion together -- it was wonderful seeing so many old friends -- I thought everyone looked great!!
Jim Hartley..............Myself and my wife had a great time , for someone who just transferred in their senior year and undertook this job it sure must have been a challenge. We both wish you the best and if ever in Washington area please drop in, again best in everything.
Richard Stephens.........I had a great time. I wish my wife could have attended and so does she. Thanks again..
Julie Stevens~Fish.......I cannot tell you what a wonderful time I had at our reunion. It was so well run and beautifully done! Again, it was wonderful in every way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting it all together so beautifully. Keep in touch. And I'm looking forward to the 45th!
Kay (Jenkins) Davison....Jeanne,It was a blast and you and whomever your helpers were deserve special recognition. I loved the cruise, perfect weather, good food and old friends.
Greg and Dee Hoffmann....I just wanted to say thanks once again for all the work you put into this reunion, and it was great. We did look for the picnic on Sunday afternoon but couldn't find anyone. I don't know if possibly he was in the wrong place.
Rhea Nichols.............Jean, you did just a fantastic job to make our 40th reunion the best yet.The web page was a great idea. Thank you so much for all your hard work in behalf of our class.
Gerry (Spicer) Pearson...After seeing you on the pier before boarding the boat (which, by the way, was as "calm" as advertised.....so please forgive me for my pre-reunion "whining" about seasickness!), I don't think I saw you again. I do want to tell you that all of your tremendous efforts were appreciated by all of us and the event was a royal success! Thank you, my friend.
REGRETS
Daniel and Mary Parker....How was the 40th Reunion? I bet it was a success. I wish we could have been there. We are still in a high alert status but we are not letting it destroy our way of life or the way we live. My Wife and I hope to see you the next time we return to Florida.
Trudi (Story) Hunsinger...Sorry we missed it. We were in Gainesville for the Fall Art show and I can tell now the economy has been affected. We had the Dunedin Art Harvest weekend before that and that was down too. December 1-2 is Palm Harbor, if you're around. Hope everybody had a good time - this would have been a good one, perfect weather, etc.
