TULUM, Zama City

Tulum, the most visited Mayan city, is built on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. It is the only walled city the Mayans built. It is located south of Cancun (130 km) and Play Del Carmen (63km) in the state of Quintana Roo on Yucatan Peninsula. It is easily accesible from Highway No. 307.

In ancient times Tulum was called ZAMA - (sunrise) and meant "City of the New Dawn".

Hello! I just went to Tulum three weeks ago on the Carnival Conquest cruise! I love the place! I love exploring and I just love ruins! I think the history of the Mayans, how the temple had the bloody hand prints on it was magnificent!
