It was several minutes later when an empty "taxi" (out of the blue) arrived to the scene, it's not as old as our taxi that broke down. And indeed it was empty 'coz it was chartered by folks going to Narathiwat yet the driver lives in Pattani & thus, was on his way back home which was our destination. Talk about pure luck! And as we boarded the taxi, the driver of the old taxi wanted only half the payment yet I paid him full out of pity. HECK, he's going to be stranded there & that he'll have to get his car repaired! Hence, I just felt it appropriate to pay him in full.
