Da Tung (Universal Peace), the large elephant, a replica of a Chinese antique dating from the late Shang Dynasty (1200-1100BC) was a gift to the City by businessman, Huo Baozhu of Xian, China. The elephant stands 12 feet high by 13 feet long. It is embellished with figures from ancient Chinese mythology, and carries a baby elephant, Xi'an Bao Bao (Baby Elephant), on top, symbolizing that offspring shall be safe and prosperous.
