*The red asterisk is the province of Aceh which is still +8 hours away from Medan since Sumatra is a big island.

And eventhough it's a beautiful place, there's so much fighting in Aceh that it's always in the news. (Time magz, Newsweek, & etc.) In fact, there's people dying there everyday!

In turn, my cousin was quite apprehensive about Medan due to its close proximity in the map but in actuality, Medan is already far from Aceh & thus, peaceful.
