Overall, it is just quite unfortunate now for Indonesia [except Bali] to be avoided for tourism since this country, as reckoned by the guidebooks & a lot of people who's been around South-East Asia, is the most beautiful country in the region in terms of natural beauty - Also, this country is so cheap perhaps the cheapest in the region that it's really a great place to visit. However, safety should always be the top priority & so, if you're white, then Hindu Bali is perhaps the only place for you here in Indonesia since safety is not a guarantee in all the other islands though you really will need 3 weeks in Bali to really enjoy & see it all.
