Incidentally, the rise in granitic [continental] plates is what gave birth to the high mountain ranges of the world which we now travel to. Mountain ranges such as: the Himalayan range (Mt. Everest &#38; company), the Andes mountains of South America, the Sierra Nevada &#38; Cascade Ranges of North America, &#38; etc. Now if you look at any world map, you&#39;ll easily notice that most of these ranges are in the Pacific side of the continent whether in Asia or the Americas. But if you look at the Atlantic side of the Americas &#38; Africa, you won&#39;t see any high mountain ranges let alone volcanoes. </div></nolayer></noembed>
