München and its Drunken Grandmas

First of all, sorry for the delay in the website. Now, Oktoberfest... I guess I'll start from the beginning.

Well, after Salzburg Larissa and I decided that it would be in our best interests to see München (Munich) during Oktoberfest. Larissa and I intend on going back with our friends within the next 5 years; it was a blast.

I'm afraid I may never come home after being at Oktoberfest. Sounds like an awesome time! I had to really sensor this article when reading to my class. We'll have to have our own mini Oktoberfest this Saturday complete w/flippy cup. Did you teach your foreign friends that game? Actually that might be kind of difficult with Liter glasses/beersteins. Ah Oktoberfest.....so many memories
Hey kids! Hans, I don't blame you...how can you NOT buy that hat? The best thing about it is, when you've had that much to drink you think the hat actually looks good on you and that you're going to wear it when you get home. Been there - Picture me 2 years ago...6'6" stumbling around in a 2' tall hat. Those friends you're talking about going back with in 5 years...yeah I'm definitely one of them. Drunken Grandmas is definitely one of the personalities you see there...some of them I saw were "Angry Waitress with Huge Arms", "Pretzel Crumbs in My Beard Man", "Prost-So-Hard I Break my Mug Man", and "12 Year-Old with Fake ID saying he's 14 so he can buy Beer Kid." He was my favorite...he actually bought me a beer too. Have fun the rest of your trip - miss you and see you soon!

Ein prosit, ein prosit...
Guten tag! Well, the Oktoberfest you described sounds a lot like the one in Deerfield. We had 75+ guests, singing, eating & dancing in tents. Mr H. was the official photographer--a real paparazzi. Ms H. rallied (despite recent back trouble) to be a belle at the ball. Can't really say that anyone got as drunk as the Munchners...not that I noticed anyway. Just one mishap...in my wildly exhuberant jitterbugging, I injured my foot (now in a walking cast). That didn't stop me from one more electric slide & one attempt at polka-ing with mein klein boo (that's my little boy, or close to it). Sounds like you're having a blast, really taking in not just the sights and smells (ha) but the culture. Isn't it grand? Looking forward to hearing about your journey upon your return. Maybe we can muster up a few bottles of German wine and thaw some brats. Love, Ms D.

Oktoberfest
Glad to see that you got to experience the wonderful Germans at their finest. Wish I could've been there to help teach you the lovely drinking tunes. Anyways, we tried our best to imitate the motherlands' celebration with our own shindig, Oktoberfest in Deerfield! One word could describe it...Classic! Even Deb and Dick were feelin' the spirit.
