As you have already read in the previous article, Samosir island arose in the middle of Lake Toba which is actually a caldera of a massive volcano that collapsed on itself +10,000 years ago. But anyway, Samosir island is the main "get-away place" here in Lake Toba. *Another place that is similar to Lake Toba is the beautiful "Isla de Ometepe" in Nicaragua. If you've already been there, then that's how similar this place is.
