These autumn pictures are of Nastola, a township located near the city of Lahti in southern Finland. I grew up there in the late 60s and 70s. Many of us from there claim it to be Maailman Napa (literally translated World's Navel, meaning the center or most important place in the world), and we like to inform people that Lahti is only a suburb of Nastola, and Helsinki only Nastolas harbor ;-) The population of the township is now about 14800, but back when I lived there, it was only a few thousand.
