One of the bathing rooms. On the way to The Valley of The Temples at Agrigento, we stopped here. Located about 3.5 miles from the town of Piazza Armerina, another town worthy of inspection by those interested in antiquities. The city was a marketplace in the 12th century, after the market town that had grown around the ancient Villa Romana del Casale, was destroyed in 1161. It was an important commercial and political center in the early middle ages, when the Sicilian parliament met there on occasion.
