Marketplace in Palermo
Sightseeing in Sicily picture - Sunday, a tour of Palermo. We are dropped off at The Verdi Opera House for a few hours on our own. We find the fruit, veggie, meat, marketplace. Here, a bagpiper, accompanied by a bellringer, gives the area some sounds. A person, hearing our American accents, wants to exchange his Lira for dollars, but we have not much of that with us. Here too, is the Palermo, untouched since the end of WW-2. Other tourists coming out of the area past the marketplace, advise us not to go in there, but I'm oblivious to their advice. "I, want to cam-cord and photograph," I advise them! "Suit yourself," they say! But, we about face, after 1 block into the area!
