Christmas time in Tenerife is a little bit different for those who are used to have snow and/or low temperatures during this season of the year. An average of 22C (71.6F) in its capital city may help you to understand why.

San Cristobal de La Laguna, better known as La Laguna, has one of the most important cribs traditions in Spain. People are really devoted to the construction of these typical Christmas elements. During my walk around this beautiful city I found a band playing Christmas music, a stand delivering sweet wine, hot chocolate and a very typical cake from La Laguna just for free. This cozy atmosphere was enhanced with a very peculiar detail: the band, the stand and most of the cribs were in the nearby of La Laguna's Cathedral. The Christmas spirit is allover.

What is also really beautiful is Tenerife's capital city. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is very well known as a "green city". We can say that trees and flowers can easily take ones heart. During Christmas time, this city does really know how to take advantage of its great weather, its green-friendly environment and the best of its culture. Do not miss a walk during the Christmas nights around Santa Cruz de Tenerife centrum, especially its city hall.
