Glad you enjoyed Bukit Tinggi. What you missed so far are the farmland, the traditional industry activities, and farm stay experience, which are fascinating. Being from Singapore I have friends that own some of the Minang homes that you so beautifully featured. Perhaps the next time you or your freinds take a tour...you could contact us for details of such Homestay.

Thanks for the nice comments but once again, the faces pics are not mine but the guidebooks. However, I included them so as to show the NUMEROUS interesting aspect of travel here in enchanting Sumatra since my pics are mediocrely. (I hope the guidebook don't sue me, he, he, he.) As for Krakatoa, people of different ages still talk about it as that's how AWESOME the volcano is!

Very interesting pictures, particulary of Krakatau. As a young boy I liked to listen to my grandfather's life stories. Once he talked about the volcanic explosion at Krakatau (a.k.a Krakatoa) in 1883. As a 12 year old young fellow he remembered the after effects felt even in Europe, with brilliant sun colorations, drastic weather changes etc
