*Krakatau is that world-renowned volcano that exploded violently in the late 1890's & killed thousands of people! Its eruption was heard as far as Japan (or was it Aussie?) with the ashes scattering around the globe. Now that's how strong the explosion was that it ranks with one of the worst in mankind's history.

Once again, Indonesia has the most volcanoes since it's located at a very tectonically-active site: the Pacific plate. Unfortunately, they're also the most viloent volcanoes of the planet thereby rendering the country the most human casualty regarding volcanic explosions.
