A prospector from the mid-1800's spelled the name this way on his description of a mining claim. The tiny lake is located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. It can be reached by a trail (a little over a mile) from the Albion Basin campground. Devil's Castle peak can be seen at the left.
