And with $10 gasoline a day + $15 a day for food & snacks (plus $15-20 for miscellaneous expenses like entry to a museum & etc.), then you're really better-off staying at free campgrounds to save $1,000! *During the course of the nite, those teen-agers (or young adult) campers were very loud even if their tents were by a distance. But then again, no one else was around & so, it was party time for them! However, we countered their noise with our own, full-blast snoring!:) In a way, this is another drawback to staying in free campgrounds of the U.S. There's no security or campground rangers patrolling the place & so, there will be loud & boisterous campers especially on summer.
