Now some people may argue that you're the newcomer. Hence, you have to adapt to the host country's culture & drop some of your own especially those that are not appealing to the folks of the host country (e.g. "hanging-out" & etc.) However, there's a saying that goes "you are what you are," the real you will naturally come out no matter what. Such is the hanging-out of the Filipinos here & of the Mexicans in Cal. Ultimately, there's 3 viewpoints to all of this. On the right, the conservatives evokes the aforementioned argument. On the left, the liberals argues that there's beauty in diversity, that it's nice to see different culture & ways of life (including massive hanging-out!) as long as no laws are broken. The 3rd viewpoint then comes from the center [the moderates] who states - let's all just get along, love & understanding transcends all culture. (I guess that also applies to inter-racial marriages.)
