In a way, the plight of the overseas Filipinos is indeed not really that dramatic or bad compared to other people of this world such as: the Jews of the past, the refugees in Africa, Palestine, & Afghanistan, & etc. Still, the "Filipino plight" is a plight of a people. P.S. Going overseas to find employment is not new to our clan. Currently, I have a 30 year old female cousin in Rovanemi, Finland (the "Arctic Circle") who's a pre-school teacher under a 2 year contract. She was recruited in the Philippines where she did the same job. And though, there's a few Filipinos in Helsinki [the capital], there's only 2 of them up north in Rovanemi! And with the sun almost not showing during the Arctic Circle's cold winter season (while it's always hot & sunny in the Philippines), then my cousin's in for a shock! But it's great that she has a positive, upbeat, & sunny attitude or else, she will not survive!
